How to Use a Foam Roll to Improve Upper Back Mobility

Many people struggle with back pain and mobility, often caused by inflammation, poor posture, or improper movement in activities of daily living. Back pain or decreased mobility can often be hard to tackle and can leave people with discomfort for extended periods of time. Luckily, there are exercises and products we can use to help increase mobility and alleviate pain and discomfort!

In the video above, we use an Amazon Basics Foam Roller to enhance upper back mobility. To perform the exercise, lay on your back with the foam roller positioned at the bottom of the rib cage. Then, rock side to side three times before shifting so that the foam roller moves up your back. Next, continue rocking side to side, while moving the foam roll to the top of your spine. Once the roller is at the top of your spine, shift your head and neck down while working the roller back down your spine.
