The Airex Balance Pad Squat is a balance exercise to improve body control, balance and coordination. Muscle confusion and the variability of the exercise leads to increased muscle recruitment, and throughout this exercise one will recruit primarily the glutes, hip flexors, and quadriceps. Secondarily, the exercise will recruit the abdominals, calves, and hamstrings. To decrease the intensity of this exercise, one could decrease the depth of the squat or have a counter/chair nearby to hold on to. To increase the challenge, one can add hand weights or hold the squat for longer at the bottom end range. Check out the movement below!
