This is a great exercise in which core stability is the key to control, which promotes eccentric strength in our lower body. The exercise targets the knee musculature as well as ensures quality hip stability through incorporation of the mini band. While pushing outwards into the mini band during step down, knee valgus can be prevented and increased gluteus medius activation can occur which is important for injury prevention for athletes.
